About the association of legal adminstrators
The Association of Legal Administrators is here to serve. We were founded in 1971 to provide support to professionals involved in the management of law firms, corporate legal departments and government legal agencies. We now serve more than 8,500 legal management professionals worldwide.
2017-2020 GOALS & OBJECTIVES
ALA is the undisputed leader for the business of law, focused on the delivery of cutting-edge management and leadership products and services to the global legal community. We solve the most critical strategic and operational challenges our members and customers face today, while we prepare them for the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow.
Goal 1: Define Our Identity
Define a clear, compelling organizational identity that reflects who/what the association represents and that effectively focuses its programs, services and activities.
Goal 2: Increase Member and Business Partner Value
Develop relevant, actionable, timely, responsive resources to increase value of ALA to members, business partners and other legal management professionals.
Goal 3: Enhance Industry Thought LeadershipGoal 4: Advance Legal Management Professional Development
Become recognized as a thought leader in the legal industry by conducting critical industry research and developing new ideas, innovations and solutions to guide the legal management industry.
Advance the knowledge, skills and leadership of legal management professionals and strengthen the role of legal management professionals in the legal industry.
Goal 5: Build Community and Engagement
Build a stronger sense of community and shared purpose and increase engagement among members, chapters, business partners, and other stakeholders.
DIVERSITY and INCLUSION:
The ALA Diversity Initiative aims to increase awareness of and sensitivity to the differences among our workforce and to advance the concept of inclusiveness and acceptance. ALA’s goal is to increase diversity and inclusion in the Association, in the legal management community and in all legal service organizations. The Suncoast Chapter supports the ALA in this endeavor. ALA ONLINE COMMUNITY:
Online Community provides members ways to network and collaborate with peers. It is a collaboration tool that allows members to communicate and share with one another all year long. Resources include crowdsourcing advice and information on shared interests, a great place to brainstorm solutions, ask questions, and get answers from colleagues, share interesting articles, templates, samples and other materials, take part in and review surveys and polls, and find other members by name or company.
